About AquaSense kits and features
What's the difference between Timer, Basic, and Smart kits?
Timer Kit offers timer-based pump control and scheduling. Basic Kit adds water level sensing for automatic ON/OFF. Smart Kit adds water supply detection and dry-run protection. All work with the same app and can be upgraded later. Every kit is Nivoryx-owned hardware included with your DASS subscription — monthly pricing is shown at checkout in the app.
Does it work without WiFi?
Yes! AquaSense works perfectly without WiFi. It supports Bluetooth for direct phone control (5-10m range), Zigbee 3.0 mesh networking for multi-device coordination (30-100m range), and even LoRaWAN for remote locations (kilometers). WiFi is optional for cloud connectivity and remote access.
How accurate is the water level sensor?
The ultrasonic sensor has ±3mm accuracy (HC-SR04) or ±5mm (JSN-SR04T). We also support capacitive (±2%) and pressure (±1%) sensors. Effective range is 2cm to 400cm tank depth.
What pumps are compatible?
AquaSense supports 6 motor types: single-phase AC, three-phase AC, DC motors, submersible pumps, jet pumps, and centrifugal pumps. Current sensing supports up to 20A with ±1.5% accuracy.
Can I upgrade my kit later?
Absolutely! All kits are designed to be upgradable. You can add a water sensor to Timer Kit to make it Basic Kit functionality. Add current sensor to Basic Kit to get Smart Kit features.
Can I use multiple sensor types?
Yes! AquaSense supports 4 sensor types: ultrasonic (±3mm accuracy, 2-400cm range), capacitive (±2%), pressure (±1%), and float switch (on/off detection). You can choose the best type for your tank setup.
How many tanks can one system manage?
A single controller handles up to 5 tanks with shared pump support. With our multi-coordinator gateway architecture, you can manage up to 25 tanks across 8 independent Zigbee networks — ideal for apartment buildings and commercial installations.
What happens if a sensor goes offline?
The system has automatic fault detection. If a sensor goes offline, the motor is safely stopped to prevent damage. When the sensor reconnects, the system resumes automatic operation with retry logic and exponential backoff.
Installation
Professional install is part of DASS — plus DIY guidance
Can I install it myself?
Yes! AquaSense is designed for DIY installation in 20-30 minutes. We provide detailed video guides. The sensor mounts with clips (no drilling), and the controller connects with just 2 wires to your pump starter.
Do I need an electrician?
For basic installation, no. However, if you're not comfortable with electrical work, we recommend having a local electrician help with the pump wiring part. It takes them about 15 minutes.
What if my tank is very far from the controller?
The standard sensor cable is 5m. Extension cables can take that up to 15m total, and a wireless Range Extender covers longer distances. Our install team configures the right setup for your home as part of your DASS subscription.
Will it work with overhead tanks on the terrace?
Yes, that's the most common setup! The sensor goes on the tank (terrace) and controller near the pump (ground floor). They connect wirelessly via Bluetooth/WiFi.
What about underground sumps?
The sensor can measure sump levels too. For humid sump environments, ensure the sensor is mounted properly with ventilation. The waterproof sensor (IP67) handles condensation well.
Connectivity
App and network questions
What's the Bluetooth range?
Standard Bluetooth range is about 5-10 meters indoors. For larger homes or if the pump is far from living areas, our Range Extender extends range up to 50m through walls — our install team includes one where your home needs it.
Which WiFi networks are supported?
AquaSense supports 2.4GHz WiFi (802.11 b/g/n). Most home routers have this. 5GHz networks are not supported as they have shorter range.
What happens during internet outage?
Everything keeps working! All automation runs locally on the device. You can still control via Bluetooth. You just won't get remote access until internet returns. This is a key advantage over competitors who require internet for basic functionality.
Do I need a subscription for the device to work?
Your hardware is part of your DASS subscription, so an active subscription covers the device, its care, and app features. Day-to-day automation runs locally on the device, so it keeps working during internet outages — the cloud only adds remote access and history.
Is the app free?
Yes, the Nivoryx app is free to download on iOS and Android. Everything your DASS plan includes is unlocked in the app — real-time control, schedules, history, and more. Plan details and monthly pricing are shown at checkout in the app.
Can multiple family members use it?
Yes — family sharing depends on your plan tier, with details shown at checkout in the app. Each person installs the app and logs in with their own account.
What connectivity protocols does AquaSense support?
AquaSense supports 4 protocols: BLE 5.0 for device setup and direct control (10m range), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n for cloud connectivity, Zigbee 3.0 for mesh networking between devices (30-100m range), and LoRaWAN IN865 for long-range connectivity in remote locations (kilometers). You can switch between Zigbee and LoRaWAN at runtime.
DASS subscription
Device-as-a-Subscription Service in Delhi NCR pilot (app checkout)
What is DASS?
Device-as-a-Subscription Service (DASS) is how you get Nivoryx: you pay a refundable ₹2,000 per-device hardware deposit, a monthly plan by tier (exact monthly pricing is shown at checkout in the app), and optionally a one-time professional install fee (shown at checkout). Nivoryx owns and maintains the hardware — repairs and replacement are included. Available in the Delhi NCR pilot via the Nivoryx app.

No. Professional install is selected by default at checkout as an optional one-time fee, shown at checkout before you confirm. You may opt out and install yourself at no install fee. Installs are fulfilled by Nivoryx or an authorized service partner.
Can I buy the hardware instead of subscribing?
No — Nivoryx is subscription-only. Hardware is always Nivoryx-owned; there is no buy-to-own channel. You subscribe, we install and maintain the system, and your deposit is refunded when you cancel and we collect the hardware.
What does the DASS deposit cover?
The deposit secures the Nivoryx-owned hardware for your subscription. It is refunded when you cancel, after hardware collection, per the Device Deposit policy. Install fees, when charged, are separate and non-refundable.

Troubleshooting
Common issues and solutions
Why is my water level showing incorrectly?
Check if the sensor is mounted level and pointing straight down. Ensure no obstructions between sensor and water. Recalibrate in app: Settings → Device → Calibrate. If issues persist, contact support.
The pump doesn't turn on automatically
Check: 1) Automation is enabled in app, 2) Low threshold is set correctly, 3) Controller is powered on, 4) Wiring connections are secure. Try manual ON first to verify pump works.
I'm not receiving notifications
Check app notification permissions in phone settings. Ensure the app isn't in battery optimization mode. For Pro users, verify notification preferences in app settings.
Bluetooth connection keeps dropping
Move closer to the controller. Check if other Bluetooth devices are causing interference. Restart Bluetooth on your phone. If persistent, try clearing app cache and re-pairing.
How do I reset the device?
Press and hold the reset button on controller for 10 seconds until LED blinks rapidly. This resets WiFi settings but keeps your schedules. For factory reset, hold for 20 seconds.
My sensor won't join the Zigbee network
Common fixes: 1) Ensure the coordinator is powered on and the network is open for joining (180s window). 2) Move the sensor within 2m of the coordinator during initial pairing. 3) If the sensor was previously paired to a different network, factory reset it to clear stale credentials. 4) Check for RF interference from other 2.4GHz devices.
